My Why

I’ve been designing, developing and marketing websites since 1999. It all started with an elective class my senior year of high school and quickly grew into a hobby and then a career.

After 19 years of experience, I can honestly say I still love what I do. But that hasn’t always been the case.

In the early years of my business, I enjoyed creating websites for non-profits and small businesses. I earned a respectable living and my clients were happy with their shiny new websites.

Disturbing Trend

But several years ago, I noticed a disturbing trend. The first time it happened, I thought it was an anomaly. But then it happened again and I chalked it up to coincidence. After the third time in the same year, I knew a trend was developing and I had to do something about it.

Three of my clients had gone out of business in the same year. First it was a construction company in California. Then, it was an online survival store. Finally, a textiles company in Nevada was calling it quits.

It felt like a punch to the gut. In fact, I thought I was partially to blame. “Could I have done something to help prevent this,” I asked myself.

Not Enough

I quickly realized a nice looking website was no longer enough. In fact, it wasn’t even helpful for these clients to give them a great looking website, only to walk away and wish them luck in their online marketing efforts.

The same folks who needed an upgraded or brand new website, also needed marketing services - necessary and valuable services that would keep their businesses alive and growing.

Not too long after that, I had a long-term client of mine reach out to me about marketing. I had been maintaining her website for several years while she went through various marketing consultants and agencies, only to be outright burned or just disappointed with their lack of results.

When I took over her marketing, her business began to grow rapidly. She got real results from the services I provided her. In fact, her business doubled in about 12 months.

She was thrilled and so was I!

It probably took me too long to fully realize what was happening, but I knew I needed to pivot to online marketing instead of just building websites and leaving my clients to fend for themselves in the brutal world of digital marketing.

So that is now my main focus - digital marketing. My aim and goal is to deliver quality results for every client...online marketing that actually works.

I now have several clients for whom I’m doing ongoing marketing for on a monthly basis, and I have space for a few more. I am truly enjoying helping my client’s businesses become more successful.

But I have a confession to make…

My Confession

Digital marketing is not my passion...let me explain.

My career in digital marketing is a means to an end. My true passion is my Christian faith and my family. These two things drive me to become successful in business so I can give more time to my family and give more money to causes that matter to my family.

Causes like orphan care.

God has blessed my wife and I with four beautiful, healthy children. We are completely content with our life and our family. However, it seems to us that God wants to grow our family through non-biological means.

At this point, we’re not sure if we are to adopt or foster or both, but we feel very strongly that our family will be larger in the near future.

Most adoptions come with expenses, so part of my drive to be successful in my business is to help us fund a future adoption, providing a stable and loving home for a child who desperately needs it.

We’re not sure how this is all going to unfold, but we trust God’s direction and are willing to follow His lead. Our prayer is that the freedom, flexibility and finances He blesses us with through my digital marketing agency, will ultimately lead to growing our family through fostering or adoption.

We are expecting quite an adventure in our future. Stay tuned for more details!
